New album recording update
Monday, 26 April 2010

Susan WongAm happy to let you all know that I have finished recording my latest album. Teaming up again with the guys from Lausanne (Switzerland) and with my producer Adrien Z, we have put together another "unexpected" music creation. The song list is a compilation from late 60s and early 70s extending to one of the biggest hits of  2009.  Thanks to the "unthinkable" and daring ideas from Adrien, together with my music arranger and lead guitarist, Ignacio, I am hoping for another surprise to  you all.

Returning back to the same studio for recording as 511 brought back a certain level of comfort. Being back to a known environment made recording a lot smoother and easier. The weather was great, clear blue skies, the sun, and a refreshing cool breeze, but spending more than 12 hours a day in the studio, I did not get much of the fresh Swiss air.

ImageEverything went smoothly, from the day of arrival and to the very last minute of recording. Hence it is inevitable that something not so smooth should arise. I finished recording on the day the Iceland volanoe erupted. Listening to the very early morning news on the Thursday sent some bad vibes. The ash was spreading so quickly that I decided to make other travel plans. Instead of staying on a few more days, I decided to leave that evening back to Hong Kong, I was very lucky to get the last seat on the last flight back to Hong Kong as the next day, most airports from Europe have closed. To me, my travels always involves some hiccups, but this was one unforseeable incident that I was lucky to get out of.

I hope you all look forward to my next release and I will update you on the song list when I am "allowed" to. Perhaps you may give me a suggestion to my next album's title.

And last but not least, I will be releasing my own special line of headphones of which I collaborated in the sound engineering and design of. This headphone, which the sound have been tested with my vocals, will be released in June this year. I will closely update this release and will post some photos of my design.

Have a nice week everyone!!!!!!!!!

My NEW Album is coming soon
Friday, 27 March 2009

ImageThis album has taken more than a year to prepare and I hope that you will find a change in both my music and vocal direction.

Having made my previous album in Nashville USA, I took the liberty to record my new album in Geneva, Switzerland. Actually, more of a coincidence, as the producer, Adrien Z, whom I had a very strong interest to work with, lived in Geneva,

Very talented! He brought my music ideas to life. He was able to transform the songs I want to sing into the styling which I dare tried.

I made my way to Geneva last year in September to meet with him for the first time, and the skeletal structure of my demos were made.  I guess I took a "more hands on" approach with this album, more than any of  the previous ones, as I felt the need to voice out my persona, be more individualistic and independent for my work.Together with the guitarist, also from Geneva, we jammed a few sessions and share a lot of ideas and possibilities, ," accapella" style as they would say.

I am looking forward to releasing a few bits and pieces of my album in the coming weeks, and let you share the harvesting of the work and efforts I put in this past year!

Susan
